The Best Fat-Burning ExercisesThere are two types of exercise that are best for burning fat. And they are both easy to do! The first best exercise is simply to walk -- at a comfortable pace -- for about a half-hour (longer is better unless it makes you feel tired). Walking is a "best" exercise for dieters because it is a low-intensity exercise. Low intensity exercises are known to stimulate your body to burn fat rather than carbohydrate. (See below.) The other best kind of exercise for dieters is strength exercise (there are several simple ones that don't take much time). Strength exercise preserves (and builds) muscle -- and muscle is one of the most important fat-burning tissues in your body. In fact, muscle actually "prefers" to burn fat. Therefore the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn -- even when you are not exercising. Of course, no exercise can overcome the effects of eating too many calories, which can put fat on as fast as exercise can take it off. That is why it is vital to also use a diet technique that suppresses hunger and maintains energy levels while you are exercising. To find out more about the physiology and techniques of exercising in order to lose weight, read the free chapter of The 2004 Multi-Diet: "More On... Exercise". The 2004 Multi-Diet also shows you why certain ordinary supermarket foods can be called "fat-burning foods" (it's not what you think) and which combinations of these foods let you lose weight and keep it off with no cravings or hunger. |
