I have known for years that this statement is true, if only because my own attempts to diet would succeed or fail according to some mysterious factor that I had absolutely no awareness or control of. In fact, the very same diet would often succeed once and then fail every other time I tried to use it. Doctors, research subjects, and ordinary people have repeatedly experienced exactly the same effect. Needless to say, it's been hugely frustrating for everyone. But it's also been a hugely fascinating puzzle challenging all of us for a solution. For years I have speculated and thought about what this "other factor" could be. Moreover, since medical libraries are actually easier to use than most public libraries, it's been fairly easy to find the available information on the subject and even to track down much of the original research and the people who did it. Eventually, I found a diverse group of thinkers who collectively had a new synthesis of the data. The mysterious "blocking factor" is now no longer mysterious to me and will soon not be mysterious to you either. When you understand it, you will find it as easy to take off weight as it was to put it on (not, of course, as enjoyable.J) And there will be no problem at all keeping it off because controlling this "blocking factor" is simply a matter of knowing how---not of making constant strenuous and heroic efforts to avoid food. Right now you can only imagine the relief and the feeling of personal power you will get when you gain complete control over this most major area of your life---eating. |
